Today's Scenario: - In the early Asian session, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) futures on NYMEX are hovering near a two-week high of around $73.90. The oil price has demonstrated a strong performance in the past two trading sessions, benefiting from weakness in the US dollar and expectations of more sanctions being imposed on Russia.

Buy Scenario: - The five-week-old horizontal resistance near $73.90-74.00 is limiting the immediate upside potential of WTI crude oil. Furthermore, the convergence of the trend channel's upper boundary and the 200-SMA at $74.60 could prove to be a tough obstacle for oil buyers to overcome.

If the commodity price manages to rally above $74.60, there's a chance of it running up towards the $77.50 level, followed by the $78.00 hurdle. However, multiple hurdles marked since February 13th highlight the $80.80-81.00 level as a crucial resistance to watch out for, till we do not advise to buy in crude oil.

Selling Scenario: - During the sluggish Asian session on Thursday, WTI crude oil fluctuated around $73.00, retreating from a 12-day high. The black gold remains within the two-week ascending trend channel, but has pulled back from the channel's upper boundary and a horizontal hurdle that has lasted for five weeks.

It's worth noting that the latest pullback in the energy benchmark is due to signals from the MACD indicating an impending bear cross, and the retreat of the RSI (14) line from overbought territory.

As a result, the commodity price is expected to drop further towards the immediate support of the 100-SMA, located around $71.70 at press time. If the quote remains bearish below $71.70, the $70.00 level and the bottom boundary of the trend channel near $69.45 will become crucial as they could pave the way for the entry of oil bears. Till will did not advise to sell WTI Crude oil.
