Today's Scenario: - The USD/JPY pair dropped to 132.90 during early Friday trading, after reaching a two-week high, as market sentiment turned cautious ahead of key US inflation data. The pullback in the pair could be due to discussions surrounding the Bank of Japan (BoJ), mixed economic data from Japan, and sluggish US Treasury bond yields.
Regarding Japan's economic data, the Tokyo Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 3.3% in March, higher than the expected 2.7%, but lower than the previous reading of 3.4%. Additionally, the Tokyo CPI ex Food and Energy increased to 3.4%, compared to the previous reading of 3.2% and the market consensus of 3.3%. Moreover, Japan's Industrial Production grew by 4.5% MoM in February, exceeding the estimated 2.7% and the previous reading of -5.3%. Retail Trade also improved to 6.6% in February, higher than the previous reading of 5.0% and the analysts' forecast of 5.8%. However, the unexpected rise in Japan's Unemployment rate from 2.4% to 2.6% in February may have contributed to the recent weakness of the Japanese Yen (JPY).
Overall, the USD/JPY pair is facing headwinds due to the cautious market sentiment, mixed economic data from Japan, and low US Treasury bond yields.

Buy Scenario: - For the USD/JPY pair to target the Second Major Resistance Level (R2) at 133.366, it needs to avoid falling below R1 and the 132.599 pivot. A bullish session could be signaled by a move through the morning high of 133.134. However, a breakout would require support from PMIs from China and US economic indicators.
If the bulls continue to rally, resistance at 134 could be tested. The Third Major Resistance Level (R3) is at 134.133. Till we did not advise to buy in USD/JPY.

Sell Scenario: - On the other hand, falling below R1 and the pivot would bring the First Major Support Level (S1) at 132.232 into play. However, the USD/JPY pair is unlikely to fall below 131.5, barring a sell-off of the dollar. The Second Major Support Level (S2) at 131.832 should limit the downside. The Third Major Support Level (S3) is at 131.065. Till we did not advise to sell the position in USD/JPY.

Support and Resistance Level: -
SupportResistance
S1 132.26-R1 133.03
S2 131.85-R2 133.38
S3 131.50-R3 133.79
