Today's Scenario: - The USD/CAD pair is trading around 1.3520, having recovered from its weekly losses near the lowest levels seen in over a month. The Loonie is taking cues from the relatively unchanged oil prices and the US Dollar, which are both trading in a cautious market ahead of the release of key inflation data from the US and Canada's monthly GDP figures for January.

Buy Scenario: - In USD/CAD recovery moves would need to validate the 50-DMA resistance at 1.3545 to convince short-term buyers.
However, the mid-month low around 1.3650-55, followed by December 2022 tops at 1.3705, could challenge the pair’s further upside before reaching the previous yearly top of 1.3977. Till we do not advise to buy USD/CAD.

Sell Scenario: - The USD/CAD pair has declined to 1.3520-25, reaching the lowest levels since February 22, amid a cautious market sentiment ahead of the key US inflation data. The pair has incurred minor losses during the five-day losing streak.
Despite this, the pair’s successful break below the 50-day moving average (DMA) and bearish MACD signals could further fuel the bearish bias. However, the lack of an oversold RSI (14) line could limit the downside.
The upward-sloping support line from early June 2022, which is currently near 1.3475, could serve as a strong support level for the USD/CAD bears to watch. Furthermore, the RSI's fall below the 50 level suggests likely dip-buying around the 1.3475 support level.
If the USD/CAD breaks below the 1.3475 support level, the 200-DMA and an ascending trend line from mid-November 2022 could challenge the bears at 1.3375 and 1.3295, respectively. Till we do not advise to sell USD/CAD.
