Today's Scenario: - The US Dollar Index (DXY) is trading around the mid-101.00s in early Friday trading, after a busy day that initially pleased buyers before giving up some gains due to cautiousness ahead of a key release and the release of US data. The recent improvement in market sentiment, led by the strong earnings of technology companies, is also putting pressure on the US dollar against major currencies. Despite this, the DXY saw a nearly 40-pip jump on Thursday following the release of US GDP and PCE data, although it gave up half of those gains later in the day. Nevertheless, the DXY ended Thursday on a positive note.
Buy Scenario: - Looking at the daily technical analysis of the June US Dollar Index futures, the current trading range is between the pivot zone of 101.180 and 101.450. In the short-term, the technical indicators show a neutral sentiment, although the longer-term trend remains bearish.
A breakthrough above the resistance level of 101.695 would indicate the presence of buyers, and surpassing the level of 101.940 would suggest that buying momentum is increasing, with the next target at 102.310. Till we do not advise to buy US Dollar Index.
Sell Scenario: - On the other hand, if the support level of 101.000 is broken, this could signal the presence of sellers, potentially leading to a quick decline towards 100.740. If the latter fails to hold, then the selling pressure could extend towards the support cluster at 100.420-100.345. Till we do not advise to sell in US Dollar Index
