Today's Scenario: - The price of gold (XAU/USD) is trading near its lowest levels in two weeks, showing a slight decline from the intraday high. Market sentiment is weak due to uncertainty surrounding the conditions of the US default.

The recent positive US economic data and hawkish comments from the Federal Reserve have allowed the US Dollar to remain strong, despite a decrease in Treasury bond yields. This has added to the downward pressure on the price of gold.

Overall, the negative sentiment and the inability of gold to overcome the short-term resistance level are keeping bearish momentum intact for XAU/USD, particularly with limited market-moving events and mixed risk factors.

Buy Scenario: - If there is a recovery in the price of gold, several resistance levels will pose challenges before reaching the key upside hurdle at $2,013.

These resistance levels include the Fibonacci 38.2% level on the one-day timeframe around $1,998, and the psychological level of $2,000. If XAU/USD manages to surpass these levels, the middle band of the Bollinger on the daily chart near $2,008 could act as an additional resistance before reaching the $2,013 resistance confluence.

It's important to note that if gold buyers are able to sustain their control above $2,013, the level at $2,050 will be a significant barrier to overcome. Till we did not advise to buy XAU/USD.

Selling Scenario: - Our Technical Confluence Indicator suggests that the price of gold (XAU/USD) has a bearish outlook as long as it remains below the significant resistance level at $2,013. This resistance confluence consists of the Fibonacci 23.6% level on the one-week timeframe, Fibonacci 38.2% level on the one-month timeframe, and the 5-day moving average (DMA).

Currently, XAU/USD is testing the support level at $1,987, which includes the Fibonacci 61.8% level on the one-month timeframe. A break below this support level could lead to a further decline towards the $1,975 support level, which also corresponds to the Pivot Point one-week S2.

If the bearish momentum continues, the previous monthly low around $1,950 will come into focus as a potential target. We do not advise selling XAU/USD.

Support and Resistance Level: -
