Today's Scenario: - The British pound made an attempt to rally against the Japanese yen, but the market remained volatile and indecisive. The pair is currently hovering around the 166 level, which is a critical area of interest as it was previously affected by a significant price drop. Traders are keeping a close eye on the market movements to see whether this level will hold or if the pair will experience a further decline.

Buy Scenario: - The GBP/JPY pair reached a new year-to-date high of 166.60 but has since remained sideways with the formation of a doji candlestick in the daily chart. This indicates a lack of commitment from both buyers and sellers to open new long or short positions. Despite this, the overall bias remains tilted towards the upside, but for a bullish continuation, GBP buyers must surpass the December 20 high at 167.01, which could potentially lead to a test of the 168.00 level. Till we do not advise to buy GBP/JPY.

Sell Scenario: - On the downside, if the GBP/JPY falls below 166.00, it could exacerbate a pullback, initially testing the 165.00 level. Further downside risk remains at the 20-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at 163.88, followed by the 163.00 level.

In terms of oscillators, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) remains in bullish territory but has turned flat, indicating a shift towards neutrality. Conversely, the Rate of Change (RoC) suggests that buying pressure is fading. As a result, the overall bias remains neutral upwards, but there are potential downside risks to consider. Till we do not advise to sell GBP/JPY.
