The Slovakia Koruna (SKK) was the official currency of Slovakia from February 8, 1993 to January 1, 2009. It was replaced by the Euro (EUR) as the official currency of Slovakia on January 1, 2009, when Slovakia joined the Eurozone. The Koruna was divided into 100 haliers. The ISO 4217 code for the Slovakia Koruna was SKK. The central bank of Slovakia was responsible for issuing the Koruna.The Slovakia Koruna had a fixed exchange rate with the Euro, 1 EUR = 30.1260 SKK. The exchange rate was locked on November 30, 2007, and the Koruna was officially replaced by the Euro on January 1, 2009.The banknotes issued in Koruna were in denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Koruna. Coins were issued in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Halierov, and 1 and 2 Koruny.
