A Handle is the part of a price quote that exists to the left of the decimal point in the full quote. Also known as the big figure, the handle is used to quickly convey information about a security or index. For example, if you see a stock quoted at $30.00/32.00, then you know that it's trading at $30 per share with some buyers willing to pay up to $32 per share. The handle can be especially useful when markets are moving quickly and you need to get an overview of what's happening without having to decipher all of those pesky digitsHandles can be important because they represent how much money you're risking on any given trade. In general, it's better to focus on getting your orders filled at or near your desired handle rather than worrying about securing a few cents' difference in price. However, there are some cases where those pennies can make all the difference.
