Globalization is a complex concept that refers to the interconnectedness of the world. In other words, globalization is a state of affairs in which the world has become a single entity and this entity is governed by the global political system. Globalization has brought tremendous benefits to humanity and it has led to the creation of better technologies, health care systems, and education. However, there are some downsides associated with globalization; these include increasing natural disasters, traffic congestion and economic inequality.Globalization contributes to global problems as it impacts every country’s economy in some way or another. For example, technological advancement increases labor productivity, which leads to higher wages for workers. This leads to greater income inequality as some countries are richer than others due to increased global wealth. Globalization makes world population more vulnerable to natural disasters as there are more people traveling or living in disaster-prone areas such as slums and coastlines. Global warming contributes to this problem as it makes the environment more unstable and prone to natural disasters.Globalization makes world traffic more dangerous as there are more vehicles traveling on roadways or highways worldwide. In addition, increased transportation contributes to increased air pollution worldwide since more vehicles emit exhaust into the atmosphere. Increased business activities between different countries also leads to greater tax revenue for governments worldwide; this encourages governments to promote globalization for their country’s economic growth. However, not all countries have favorable policies regarding globalization, which contributes to world economic instability as countries can disrupt trade agreements with less scrutiny from other countries.Acknowledging both benefits and risks associated with globalization is essential so that governments take necessary steps toward mitigating its effects on the world population and environment. Nevertheless, it is important that we improve our communication systems so that we can easily share information with each other via technology advancements like email and mobile phones. Additionally, we must protect our planet’s inhabitants by reducing unnatural disasters before they cause significant damage globally.
