E-Mini is a shortened name for the electronic mini futures contract. Introduced by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) in 1997, the E-mini contracts are based on five of the most heavily traded futures contracts on the CME: S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Russell 2000, and Euro FX.The E-mini contracts are cash settled and trade electronically on the CME Globex platform. They are available in sizes of $50, $100, $250, and $500.
